OBLIQUE INDUSTRIES - Oh-One Records

Oblique Industries was formed by talented musician/composer Ryan Schofield in 2001 after being hypnotically drawn to the Australian electronic music scene after years performing in various rock bands around Melbourne. Oblique Industries’ combination of organic instruments including percussion, voice and cello with electronic synths, samplers and drum machines, together with an electric onstage energy, allow his performances to create a unique fusion of sound and visual style. Ryan somewhat mischievously explains his music as ‘eclectic electronica’ or ‘eclectronica’ - incorporating everything from minimal to electro, tech, house and progressive sounds.
Oblique Industries has been compared to Trentemøller, Stephan Bodzin, Oliver Huntemann, Vitalic, Minilogue and Marc Romboy just to name a notable few. Organic, earthy tones to digital bleeps and squeaks - the upbeat to the downright nasty, Oblique Industries has crafted a sound as much to tantalize the mind as the body exploring the contrasts between light and dark, loud and soft, BIG and small… whilst delving deep into the spaces in between.
