Info

got interested in electronic music in the eighties and a friend introduced me to acid house by giving me a tape full of it. He also took me to my first house partys in 1988, it was the Coma Club in Copenhagen, where i had to cheat to get a member ship because i only was 15 years old at that time. After these first encounters i started buying acid house records and tried to play them in my sets in a youth club. Later in the early nineties I began playing at underground parties in the Copenhagen area, and the "House/Techno" genres, which was much more connected at that time, exploded in many directions. It became obvious for me that i was interested in alot of these new directions, but after a few years i fell for the trance styles. The first years i only played with vinyl (spent all my money on it), but mixed it with DAT in the period 1995-99. Between 1994-97 i was part of an organisation called "Rotundum", which organised alot of events in the Copenhagen area and played as resident at many of those events. I started buying equipment for music production, in the beginning with Rene from Beat Bizarre, but started the Iboga studio together with Amon, Emok and Jeppe and had a project with Amon called "Maheena". In 1997 the idea of a Copenhagen label was taking shape and we named it Iboga records...It was in this time that the new Copenhagen sound was developing, and my djs sets followed the progress as so called "scandinavian trance" appeared and the Iboga team played a strong role in this development. I turned to use cds more and more in my sets. Today I am able to play groovy sets of progressive Trance. I particularly enjoy playing at outdoor events as i feel this is the right element for this type of music. Night sets as well as morning sets. Through the time i have also collected chillout and dub inspired music and have been playing sets of this at some events in between. And besides all this, i took a 4 year education as chef in one of the oldest and well known restaurants in Copenhagen. I released a mix cd on Iboga early in 2003 (Dj Banel in the mix) and has together with Dj Alhad, as part of the Fabel project, released tracks on Iboga, Tatsu and Transient records... In the last part of 2004, Rene (from Beat Bizarre)and i started a new project together called "Behind Blue Eyes". Our first release came on the Iboga compilation "Playground" from December 2004. In February 2005 im releasing my second mix CD, this time only with Iboga Tracks. It will be released together with the Greek Magazine "Freeze", in Greece only. The next Behind Blue Eyes release is the track "Rumble in the Jungle" on Iboga in 2005. In the plans we have an upcoming collaboration with Oliver from Reefer Decree. We are writing a new track for their upcoming album for Iboga later this year! If everything goes as planned, we will also release an album on Iboga, hard to say when though, we got some writing to do first during the next months. Most probably an X-mas present...
